The category includes articles about the following: international events such as world wars; national events such as federation; imperial events such as royal visits; civil disturbance; eventful political rallies; notable industrial action; natural disasters such as floods; fires and other disasters such as accidents and crashes and specific local events such as ceremonies, parades, festivals, marches, commemorations.
The common thread within each article is the focus and impact on the local area and that the occurrence described is significant enough to be considered an ‘event’. This means a large number of people have been effected by, or participated in the occurrence, and/or significant property and/or area has been effected. Personal events that only involve a small group of people and have little wider or ongoing significance shouldn’t be included in this area.
